5th Annual Many Lands, Many Faiths Concert

Congregation Agudas Achim Sanctuary, Austin, Texas 7:00 PM
While there is no charge for this concert donations are
requested which will benefit The New Orleans Musician's
Clinic and The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra.


This evening will feature:
Music of New Orleans and original music composed by Hazzan
Neil Blumofe played by special guests Jason Marsalis,
Roland Guerin, (both from New Orleans), Alex Coke, Mark
Rubin and Ben Saffer. Vocalist Mohammed Firoozi will also
sing with Hazzan Blumofe. Efraim Owens (trumpet) and Rich
Harney (piano) will also perform with Hazzan Blumofe.

UT long HORN Brass Band
The Austin Girls' Choir
The St. James Episcopal Choir.

A new CD of Hazzan Blumofe's entitled "Piety and Desire"
(Horeb Records) will be available. This is a full length cd
of original music bringing together Jewish sacred music and
New Orleans jazz. This CD was recorded in New Orleans last
year.

The New Orleans Musician's Clinic provides health care and
housing for displaced and indigent musicians. The New
Orleans Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Irvin Mayfield and
based out of Dillard University in New Orleans, acts as
the "cultural ambassadors" for New Orleans culture and
heritage.
