9:00am — Master Classes

Joel Rubin, Veretski Pass will work with individuals and bands who sign up in advance. Audience encouraged!
11:00am-12:30pm — Workshops Session 1

Adults and Teens: Instrumental Music, Dancing, Poetry, Lecture/Demonstration
Kids ages 6-12 and their families: How Does the Tsar Drink Tea? Class will put together a play for a 5:00pm performance!
12:45-1:45pm — Buffet Lunch

FREE for Pass holders, or available for purchase if ordered by Saturday, Nov. 1, or BYO. Eat and shmooze with new and old friends!

2:00-3:00pm — “Three Singers, Four Opinions” Performance

A performer of rare Yiddish songs, a self-taught folk singer, and an opera-trained bass - all supported by one versatile accordionist - compare their favorite Yiddish songs in a series of solos, duets & trios. Featuring Sharon Bernstein, Jeanette Lewicki, and Anthony (Mordechai-Tzvi) Russell, accompanied by Jim Rebhan.
3:15-4:45pm — Workshops Session 2

Adults and Teens: Instrumental Music, Singing, Literature
Kids ages 6-12 and their families: How Does the Tsar Drink Tea? Class will put together a play for a 5:00pm performance!
5:00-7:00pm — Freylekh Finale, Music & Dance Party (with pizza!)

Music by Joel Rubin, Veretski Pass, Saul Goodman's Klezmer Band, Ghost Note Ensemble, Festival Dance Band, and more! Dancing led by Bruce Bierman

A Celebration of Yiddish honoring Chane Yachness

A CELEBRATION OF YIDDISH HONORING CHANE YACHNESS
Please come and enjoy a celebration of Eastern European Yiddishkeyt through song, stories and food. Dedicated to those who gave of their lives at great sacrifice so that we could have a better life here in the goldene medine (Golden Land).

This celebration is in honor of Chane Yachness whose yortsayt is September 29, 2014. Teacher, soldier of Yiddish: Yiddish language, Yiddish song and Yiddish culture - and the love of my life. The well-known New York performer Hy Wolfe will present a program of Yiddish songs and stories, accompanied on the piano by Steve Stern. Professor Eugene Orenstein will share readings.
