At 11 AM, join us for an open klezmer jam. Sheet music will be provided.

And at 2:30 PM, Jacon Bloom will lead easy dances to klezmer music, which can be followed with a minimum of teaching. Mostly circle dances, such as the freylakhs, bulgar, slow hora, chusidl, and terkisher.

Both events will have live music by the band Shver un Shviger.

Jhos & Julie's Band of Angels with Kitchen Help, San Mateo, CA, 7 November 2010

In a rare presentation of rockin' Jewish music on the San Mateo County (Calif.) Coastside, two world-class ensembles will perform a concert on Sunday, November 7, at noon, in support of Half Moon Bay's Coastside Jewish Community, at the Oceano Hotel & Ballroom in Princeton-By-The-Sea (30 minutes south of San Francisco). Jhos & Julie's Band of Angels will perform folk to rock to Israeli, Yiddish, Sephardic, and Cantorial selections, and acclaimed Bay Area bluegrass band Kitchen Help will deliver traditional songs and heartfelt harmonies inspired by the bluegrass masters.
Tickets are $36 general admission, $50-100 preferred seating, and $10 for children. Light lunch will be provided and there will be a no-host bar.

I'm excited to tell you about a new musical adventure that Freylach Time Klezmer Band and some local Old Time musicians are planning. We are playing music together, experimenting with blending the genres and creating some very fun music. Our first public event will be a free concert Sat Dec 20 at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham.
