Jerusalem Salon
Canwest Cabaret Festival 2008, Toronto, Canada, Oct 2-3, 2008

David BuchbinderDavid Buchbinder has been invited by Soulpepper chief Albert Schultz to curate the "Jerusalem Salon" at the inaugural Canwest Cabaret Festival on Oct. 2nd and 3rd, at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts. Excited by the opportunity, he is developing a cabaret that will connect with the idea of Jerusalem as much as with songs from and about the city considered by so many to be holy. Joining him in this sidelong look at Jerusalem are some of the city's finest and freshest performers, including his wife, Arabic dancer and musician Roula Said.

The festival features Canada's most dynamic and exciting performers as they come together for a weekend-long cabaret festival bursting with song, story and ideas. Rediscover the 20th century songbook in playful and passionate interpretations from some of the country's most beloved artists. Get up close and personal with these extraordinary artists in the sublime and elegant setting of the Young Centre – an event not to be missed.

Thursday, Oct. 2nd, 8:45 p.m.
