On Sunday 12 and Monday 13 December 2004, the
Amsterdam Synagogue Choir will present a festive and
varied Chanukah concert at the famous Concertgebouw
recital hall in Amsterdam!

Cantor Moshe Haschel from London will perform as guest
soloist, and a monumental Chanukah Menorah from the
collection of the Jewish Historical Museum in
Amsterdam will be kindled.

The choir will perform the brilliant, romantic
synagogue music by the Dutch-Jewish composers Aron
Wolff Berlijn (1817-1870) and Victor Schlesinger
(1885-1939). Cantor Haschel will present a recital
from his own repertoire. Last but not least, the
Sarphati ensemble will play pieces by Shostakovich and
Beethoven with a Jewish theme.

Regular tickets cost EUR 25. Students can buy tickets
for the Monday evening concert for only EUR 15 through
the Box Office of the Concertgebouw, if they show
their students' card.
