The world-renowned music ensemble Brave Old World will present Song of the Lodz Ghetto at the National Yiddish Book Center to mark Yom HaShoah on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m., and again on Sunday, April 15 at 2 p.m. This musical theatrical work features rare Jewish street and folk music created between 1940 and 1944 in the ghetto of Lodz, Poland. Also, join us on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. for "The Story of the Song of the Lodz Ghetto," in which music director Alan Bern will discuss the history of the Lodz ghetto and its music.

Jewish Week called this production "… nothing less than brilliant, a recreation that is not merely respectful but stunningly inventive."

Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday performances are $18; admission for Sunday's talk is $5. Reservations are suggested for all events, and can be made by calling 413-256-4900 x124.
