Medford - On Saturday, December 5, the Springstep Performance Series is proud to present Klezmer & Beyond, an evening of joyous, contagious klezmer music featuring multi-instrumentalist Hankus Netsky & friends. Netsky, founder and director of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, has been one of the primary figures in the klezmer revival, and is not only a master of tradtional klezmer styles but takes Jewish music into new territories by fusing it with contemporary jazz influences and much more. This pre-holiday celebration follows a musical journey from traditional Yiddish melodies to jazz-infused versions of the classics , with a taste of dancing for all! Noshing is encouraged - latkes and other festive fare will be available.
