Yuval Ron: "The Jewish Heart in Flamenco", Encino, CA, 18 Jan 2011

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 7:30 PM
The Jewish Heart in Flamenco
A concert demonstration by Yuval Ron

An engaging talk with live music on the historic land of Andalusia in southern Spain—where Jews and Muslim created the Andalusi style of music over 600 years. That tradition is the foundation for Flamenco. Hear about the meeting of the Yuval Ron Ensemble with the Flamenco gypsy artists of contemporary Spain and the field research done by Yuval Ron into the question of the Jewish origins of Flamenco. With special guests Maya Haddi (Israeli-Yemenite singer), Norik Manoukian (Woodwind) and Jamie Papish (percussion).
