Out of the Moishe Beregovskii Collection concert series at the Jewish Salon in Hamburg in 2012, Knakl has emerged with a unique offering that pays homage to the field recordings of Moishe Beregovskii. With enormous respect given to the interpretation of their musical ancestors, Knakl presents their own interpretation that moves beyond the traditional style of Klezmer to include their personal style of free improvisation. It is a meeting across generations. From what Beregovskii left behind, Knakl have – inspired by history – gone their own way.
