David Buchbinder's Odessa/Havana will take the stage at the Rex (their debut at this Toronto institution) at prime time on Saturday, March 1, 9:30pm to deliver the "delicately textured and dazzlingly tuneful compositions, and powerful, swinging and lyrical playing", that is "passionate, dancing and completely irresistable." With music written by Buchbinder and Grammy-nominated Cuban piano master Hilario Durán, this band of top jazz and World musicians will take audiences on a journey of cross-cultural discovery, through the hidden connections of Jewish and AfroCuban music.
