Nomadica re-imagines and recombines the rich, soulful and righteously celebratory musics of the Arabs, Gypsies and Jews. Led by David and Roula Said, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, dancer, (and wife of David) the band is made up of some of Toronto's finest and most versatile musicians. Drawing from traditional Roma and Arabic, as well as instrumental dance music from the Jews and Gypsies of the Balkans and Eastern Europe, Nomadica weaves together a tapestry of sound that has deep roots in the ancestral lands and a real homeland in post-multicultural Toronto.
