David and Bellydance queen and actor Roula Said have joined up with Lula Lounge and a host of amazing performers to present their very wild, very downtown Middle Eastern flavoured Purim Cabaret.
With a hilarious script by actor/writer Marilla Wex in collaboration with Michael Wex, author of the international bestseller Born to Kvetch, this Purim Cabaret will hamantash your world!
Building and improving on last year’s sold out holiday hit, David & Roula and their compatriots have fashioned an evening full of colour, revelry, humour and performance, which will be put over the top by the pleasure of participation (yours!). Featuring music (by David Buchbinder, Dave Wall, & Arab-Jewish-Jazz fusion band Medina [David, Ernie Tollar, Deb Sinha, Levon Ichkhanian and Victor Bateman]), bellydance (by Eden Fieldstone, Meaghan Shields, Roula Said), spoken word and theatrics (by Marilla Wex, and Alon Nashman). David & Roula’s Purim Cabaret will also feature dance contests, participatory processionals, crossdressing bellydancers and much more. To encourage the full experience of Purim, all revelers arriving in full costume will pay the discounted ticket price of $18.
